nDalem Kaswargan is an area name surrounding the museum. The name was dedicated to appreciated the beauty of nature, a plateau which is the foot of mount Merapi. In Javanese mythology, mount Merapi is a blessed place where the Gods live and the center of life. In the beginning, Kaswargan park is an abandon area with rocky slope and rain forest. The place was bought by Haryono’s family in the 1970’s. They were begun to proceed with assiduity and patience to built a museum features hybrid architectural elements that marry local stone with a mock Tudor style of Dutch colonial inspiration. The compound is lovely, punctuated with different gardens set among the pavilions, some of which display sculpture. A cinnamon and pine forest borders the grounds on the west side.

An exquisite of ambiance colonial accent furnishes the European culinary enjoyment, and the scenic Merapi of greenery conjure signalizes “naar boven” nuance.
